My life

Born in the great port city of Hamburg and raised in the early years of the Federal Republic, I have been trying to understand the world ever since.

A multi-faceted life with a lot of travelling around Europe, working in theatre and broadcasting, and exploring photography have all shaped me. Running a non-profit organisation for over 20 years has opened up other perspectives and brought new insights.

I have met many people in my life and been able to gain insight into their thinking and feeling, to share in their joy, their happiness, their worries and their troubles. I have had to face challenges, I have had to celebrate successes and I have had to accept defeats, I have seen people come and people go, but I still have not understood this world.
I want to address these questions in the coming years, at my desk, in the studio and on stage.

My creative places

The Viennese are individualists.

They like to live at a lofty height,
They like to live at a lofty height,
or outdoors with plenty of space.
or outdoors with plenty of space.
They dream of long journeys,
They dream of long journeys,
but also love their homeland and the wine.
but also love their homeland and the wine.
They enjoy the weekly markets
They enjoy the weekly markets
And the cozy Heurigen.
And the cozy Heurigen.
They are eager to learn
They are eager to learn
and adventurous.
and adventurous.

The Bretons also like to be individual.

They live behind imposing facades,
They live behind imposing facades,
or well protected from the wind.
or well protected from the wind.
They love their national dish
They love their national dish
and like to go to the bar for an aperitif.
and like to go to the bar for an aperitif.
The Bretons revere their stones
The Bretons revere their stones
and admire their tricks.
and admire their tricks.
They look up to them,
They look up to them,
enjoy their calm
enjoy their calm
and they are inspired by them
and they are inspired by them
The women are feared hunters
The women are feared hunters
and if the fishermen miss the tide,
and if the fishermen miss the tide,
look at what's happening in the world
look at what's happening in the world
The water comes back on its own.
The water comes back on its own.
And in the evening, the nightlife beckons.
And in the evening, the nightlife beckons.
